The Low-Carbon Transportation Materials (LCTM) Program Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) has been posted. This NOFO is open to non-State Department of Transportation (DOT) eligible recipients including local governments, political subdivisions of a State, US territories, Federally recognized tribes, Federal Land Management Agencies, Metropolitan Planning Organizations, and special purpose districts or public authorities with a transportation function. State DOTs were eligible to apply for this funding through a Request for Application (RFA) that closed on June 10, 2024.
The LCTM Program was authorized in Section 60506 of the Inflation Reduction Act with the purpose of increasing the use of materials that have “substantially lower levels of embodied greenhouse gas emissions” as described by the Environmental Protection Agency. FHWA will award up to $800 million to eligible non-State DOT entities through the NOFO.
Application materials from eligible non-State DOT entities must be submitted through grants.gov by November 25, 2024, at 11:59 p.m., EDT. You may find additional information on the NOFO and the LCTM Program here: Low-Carbon Transportation Materials Grants Program.
